Using PureTorque with a Cable Machine
- Remove sharp or abrasive bands from your wrist and arms.
- Clean excessive sweat, lotion, or oil off arms and hands before use.
- Before every use, inspect the machine and any resistance sources (bands, cables) for damage, wear, or loose components. Tighten or replace anything worn before use.
Using PureTorque with a Door Anchor
Door anchor sold separately with bands.
- Make sure your space is clear of people, with room for the product to move away from and toward the resistance.
- Wear footwear with a firm floor grip. Floor must be clean, dry, and stable.
- Plant your feet in a wide stance and stand with a neutral spine.
- Hold the device in the correct position as shown below.
- Compress PureTorque against your chest, sternum, or ribs — whichever is most comfortable.
Advancing Your Training
PureTorque will challenge your core more than ever before. Begin slow and let your muscles adapt to this new range of motion. It offers limitless planes and directions to move through — consult an athletic training professional before attempting more advanced exercises.
- Begin with a controllable resistance for 6–8 reps in each direction.
- Start with 2 sets, 3x per week. Progress weekly — increase sets before rep range.
- When changing angles, match your path of motion to the path of resistance to keep the cable in the arc's groove.
Safety Warnings & Instructions
Read and understand every warning below before using PureTorque. Save these instructions. If anyone other than the owner uses or borrows the product, they must read and understand this guide first.
Who Should Use This Device
Consult your physician before starting any exercise routine or program — especially if you haven't exercised recently, are pregnant, injured, recovering from surgery, have a heart condition, open or healing wounds, stitches, or any other physical or mental limitation.
This device requires twisting and bending of the torso. Do not use it if you have a back injury or any condition that could be worsened by rotation — consult a physician first.
Stop immediately and consult a physician if you feel pain, discomfort, shortness of breath, lightheadedness, or dizziness during or after use.
Do not use this device if you have balance issues such as vertigo or inner ear problems until they're resolved. Do not use under the influence of drugs, alcohol, or sleep deprivation, or if you can't securely grip the device or withstand pressure on your chest.
This product is not intended for use by children under 12. Children must always be supervised by an adult capable of directing age-appropriate exercise, and parental consent should be obtained where required by law.
Before Every Use
- Inspect the product to confirm it's securely assembled, undamaged, and in good working condition. If it doesn't meet these standards, don't use it — contact Customer Service.
- Keep clear space around you to avoid contact with people or objects, including the resistance cable or bands.
- Make sure grips and pads are clean, dry, and in good condition for a secure hold.
- Wear athletic footwear with rubber soles in good condition, and test their grip on the floor before loading any resistance.
- Make sure the floor is stable, level, clean, dry, and has adequate grip. If seated, use a strong, stable seat with feet firmly planted.
- Remove jewelry or other objects from the chest and forearm contact areas before use.
- If wearing a bra or garment at any contact point, test the compression carefully before doing significant loading or repetitions.
Let people nearby know your movement, direction, and speed, since you may change direction after some reps. Stay clear of walkways, aisles, and high-traffic areas.
Attaching Resistance
Maximum resistance: 200 lbs (91 kg). Only use resistance sources intended to attach to a carabiner, and read all instructions for any accessory or attachment before use.
- Confirm the carabiner is in good condition and securely fastened to the resistance source before loading.
- Make sure the Tether Attachment Pin is fully inserted in the Arc Frame's center hole before and during every routine. If the pin or surrounding frame is damaged, stop use and contact Customer Service.
- Check the tether for damage, fraying, or cracking before each use.
- Inspect all resistance sources (bands, cables, weights) for breaks, cracks, or wear before use. Replace damaged parts through Customer Service or the respective manufacturer.
- Keep the cable aligned in the center of the Arc Frame's V-Groove at all times — your path of motion should always match the path of resistance.
Using a door anchor: confirm the door, frame, and handle/latch are structurally sound, and test the door's ability to bear your load before exercising. It's best if your pull direction closes the door rather than opens it. Post a "do not open" sign, and lock the door if possible, to keep others from opening it mid-routine.
Controlling Your Workout
Match resistance level and speed to your own fitness and athletic ability. Start slow with fewer reps and lower resistance, and progress gradually as your strength builds.
Rapid movement in any direction requires a very secure grip and should only be attempted if you're experienced, in good athletic health, balanced, and wearing good rubber-soled shoes with solid traction.
Always stay in control of the attached resistance to avoid being pulled off balance into a person or object.
Care & Maintenance
- Examine the device regularly for damage or needed maintenance. Remove it from service until any repair is made, using only manufacturer-supplied parts.
- Don't use the device if it can no longer be securely gripped or if its ability to bear load has been reduced.
- Confirm all fasteners are installed and tightened before every use.
- Don't drop, toss, or throw the device — rest it gently on a soft surface when finished.
- Never substitute a manufacturer-specified part with another object.
Cleaning: keep grips and pads clean and dry. Wipe with mild cleaning fluids made for exercise equipment, and dry before next use. Avoid solvents or harsh chemicals — they can damage the paint, grips, and pads.
